Certified Medical Assistant

Requisition 80:
The Medical Assistant primarily responsible for patient care in the clinic or ambulatory care setting. Medical assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks to keep clinic operations running smoothly. Duties and responsibilities may range from but are not limited to taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination. They must have HEDIS and I-Star knowledge and participation, and act under the supervision of the Vice President of Clinic Operations. They must maintain adherence to policies, procedures and regulations of Bakersfield Family Medical Group (BFMG) and participate in an interdisciplinary and inter-facility approach to achieving the mission, philosophy, and goals of BFMG.
High school graduation required.
Knowledge of computers.
Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
Certification by the California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants
Current CPR certification
One year experience in a physician's office or clinic preferred
Current venipuncture certification
45 WPM Typing CertificateEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
