35,000 daily McClatchy newspaper on California's Central Coast seeks a full-time copy editor on the news desk. Successful applicant will have at least one to two years' experience at a daily newspaper, strong editing skills and the ability to write accurate, inviting headlines. In addition, applicants must be able to lay out news pages in Quark or a similar design program and have knowledge of AP style. Copy editors are also responsible for posting edited content to the paper's website. Position will include night and weekend work, and may include editing in sports, business and features as well as news.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
