San Luis Obispo County wine company looking for someone to assist in the cellar. The candidate would work side-by-side with the winemaker. The job is seasonal and will likely last 3 months (early August until early November, 2014). The job would require working 4-6 days a week with a starting pay of $10/hr (can go up based on experience) Overtime pay included. Outside the peak harvest period, work may be reduced to approximately 4 days a week. Candidates must be motivated, dependable and have a clean driving record. Bilingual is a plus. This is a physical position with lots of bending, stooping, lifting (nothing over 50lbs) and ascend/descend ladders.
Job Details:
Fruit processing, cap management (punchdown/pumpovers), fermentation monitoring, cleaning, barrel work, inoculations.
Qualifications:
Passion for wine and a desire to have a career in winemaking
Coursework in enology and viticulture
Some previous cellar work, ideally at least one vintage
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
Physical stamina to complete cellar tasks
Ability to work long and variable hours

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
