High School Administrative Assistant POSITION PURPOSE /JOB SUMMARY As a vital part of the SLO Classical Academy team, the Administrative Assistant is one of the faces of our high school and provides key administrative and technical support to all high school staff.
This includes:
answering the phone; greeting guests; assisting students, parents, and staff as needed, ensuring that administrative processes are followed, providing some event support, providing equipment and device support to staff, filing, copying.
JOB STRUCTURE AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Part time, non-exempt; 18-20 hours per week.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday with possibility of adding Tuesday/Thursday Reports to the High School Student Life Director Regularly interacts with all internal SLOCA teams, families, students and the general public EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE College degree or equivalent work experience required 4
years experience in general administration Technology - Mac literate; knowledgeable with Word, Pages, Excel, Google, etc.
Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping SLOCA-specific Willingness to learn and support passionately the mission of SLO Classical Academy Committed to support and uphold the school's unique makeup as non-sectarian and accessible to families and employees from various backgrounds and beliefs Clear a background check and TB screening Ability to carry out duties as described below DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
Office and Administrative:
Perform clerical duties - make copies, file, mail distribution, manage deliveries, create and edit documents, direct calls and inquiries Maintains high school calendars (internal and public facing) Greets people and provides administrative support at school functions (evenings as required) Assembles content for the digital newsletter weekly and special announcement emails using Asana and ActiveCampaign Remains current on school details, events, and activities by reading school newsletters, attending meetings, and other Responds to occasional teacher-specific needs - classroom and administrative Provide front desk customer service for students, parents, teachers, staff, visitors High School Den support as needed Processes and logs payments submitted to the High School front desk General cleanup and organization of office space Manages work requests for facilities maintenance Technical Support:
Maintains technology inventory Troubleshoot and determine resolution for computers, printers, projectors, iPads, issues at the High School campus Act as liaison for IT related issues between the High School and the main SLOCA office Training:
Observe classrooms to better understand SLOCA and its mission Read assigned literature about classical education Read field guides from each level to help you understand better what SLOCA does as a school PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to lift and move items up to 50 pounds on a limited basis.
Able to sit at a desk or in meetings for long periods of time and move about campuses easily.
Employee must speak clearly, hear well and see well.
