Job Summary Under general supervision of the Noyce Director, this position is responsible for the full scope of administrative support functions for the Noyce School of Applied Computing, within the College of Engineering.
The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, and revising administrative systems and processes to support business operations.
These include, grant support (both stateside and Corporation), procurement, finance and budget functions, travel, class scheduling, event planning, development support, and assisting the director in ensuring compliance with campus policies and procedures.
Additionally, the incumbent provides administrative support for the director.
Administrative support staff within the College of Engineering primarily support their individual home department, while working as part of a broader team of administrative staff and in collaboration with their peers in other departments and the dean's office.
The administrative team shares ideas and innovations with respect to administrative functions, coordinates and implements uniform processes and procedures, and supports each other to ensure the success of the college.
Department Summary The Noyce School of Applied Computing, housed within the College of Engineering at Cal Poly, combines three departments under one umbrella -- Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Software Engineering, and Computer Engineering -- to create interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities for departments and faculty in applied computing across the university in fields such as statistics.
Key Qualifications Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to interpret, communicate and apply policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.
Education and Experience High school diploma or its equivalent.
Type 45 wpm.
Four (4) years of general office support or technical experience.
(Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience) Salary and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Range:
$42,064 - $51,360 annually Classification Range:
