Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Director of University Accounting & Reporting, The Property Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day administration of a complex property control system; maintenance of 30,000
items in the centralized database, the official record of acquisitions, transfers, adjustments and dispositions of University acquired equipment; and providing lead work direction to related staff and student assistants.
The incumbent must interpret, apply and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations in the identifying, classifying, calculating, examining, analyzing, and reporting of property-related transactions while also providing the highest possible level of service to the campus.
The Property Analyst provides general administrative support and guidance to campus users and external contacts regarding appropriate fiscal policies and procedures; undertakes testing and implementation of new technologies in support of functions under area of responsibility; and serves as the lead contact for property audit and maintains procedure documentation, including business process guides, forms and procedure documents.
Department Summary Property Accounting is responsible for the maintenance of property records, including acquisition, control, and disposal of equipment for the University.
Key Qualifications Ability to interpret and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting property administration and control.
Demonstrated customer service experience requiring a very high level of diplomacy and professionalism.
Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment in analyzing property transactions and physical inventory information and determining a course of action within the specifications of standard practice and established guidelines.
Ability to take initiative, plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved including handling multiple priorities.
Ability to analyze financial transactions to identify new property, calculate the unit acquisition cost of acquired property, and any subsequent cost adjustments.
Education and Experience Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university.
One year of technical or administrative experience.
A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Salary and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Range:
$50,000 - $60,000 annually Classification Range:
