To help New Life K9s produce healthy, happy, confident, and reliable service dogs.
Primary Responsibilities Follow up and assist veterans and first responders with application procedures, maintaining regular contact with them throughout the process Ensure applications are complete and update the database accordingly Follow up on check-in surveys from graduated teams Participate in New Life K9s team meetings to continue staff dog training development Follow up with Service Dog recipients as scheduled to assess adherence to ADI standards.
Maintain consistent and daily communication with the New Life K9s team to ensure the program continues to operate successfully.
Secondary Responsibilities Assist Service Dog trainers/educators in working with the dogs during outings and ensuring positive exposures to further service dog training skills.
Help evaluate dog handlers to ensure they are benefitting from the program and properly handling the dogs Assist in monitoring the progress of the dogs in the program and work with the incarcerated handlers and New Life K9s educators to ensure each dog is set up for success Assist in teaching potential service dog recipients how to work with their matched dog during bootcamp Assist Service Dog recipients with additional training under the direction of the Lead Educator.
Other Responsibilities - as needed Assist with public outings with puppy raisers and/or assigned dogs Assist with training of dogs at New Life K9s campus grounds and out in public Grooming of dogs at New Life K9s campus grounds Pick up or drop off dogs from prison program Help maintain the cleanliness of the New Life K9s campus grounds Attend training and seminars to develop your training skills and stay up to date with the service dog training community and share this knowledge with the New Life K9s Team Help with other needs under the discretion of the supervisor Qualifications and Education Requirements You must have a passion for working with both people and dogs Experience handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Excellent computer skills (Apple/Mac preferred) Excellent communication skills Additional Preferred Qualifications Experience with positive dog training methods Experience with Assistance Dogs International (ADI) standards Additional Notes This is a full time hourly position Maximum of 40 hours per week Typical work week:
Tuesday-Saturday 9am-6pm Must be able to obtain California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation clearance.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Traveling to California State Prisons at a minimum of once a week is required.
A company vehicle will be provided or mileage will be reimbursed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
