Job Summary Reporting to the Director of New Student Transition Programs, this position will assist with the day-to-day coordination of the administrative and clerical operations of the New Student & Transition Programs office; providing continuity of operation with respect to the New, Student & Transition Programs office, Student Affairs Division and university policies and procedures.
The position assists with department reporting and budget maintenance, account processing and reconciliation, recruitments and human resources processes.
The position also supports the New Student & Transition Programs staff on policy and procedures related to operational functions to meet programmatic goals.
As a key member of the New Student & Transition Programs team, this position serves as a first point of contact with prospective, admitted and current students and parents, community members, and university faculty and staff.
Department Summary The mission of the New Student & Transition Programs is to provide a seamless orientation process that promotes student success.
The office focuses on transitional issues and specific needs of freshmen, transfer students, nontraditional students and family members; demonstrates that student engagement happens in classes, through student activities, in the residence halls and through targeted outreach to underrepresented/at risk students.
We utilize technology to emphasize Cal Poly is their campus and that there are expectations for students to reflect the values of the university community as demonstrated in the University Learning Outcomes and the Mustang Way.
Key Qualifications Knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems, and packages.
Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.
Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
Education and Experience High school diploma or its equivalent.
Four years of general office support or technical experience.
(Training in a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience based on one year of college education for 6 months of experience).
Salary and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Range:
$46,224 - $60,348 Per Year Classification Range:
